Job description
Overview
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join an expanding organisation, playing a pivotal role in ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and aiding strategic decision-making. This role will also be integral to advancing the finance function's digital transformation through improvements in systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end closing process, guaranteeing timely and accurate preparation of management accounts as per deadlines.
- Prepare, examine, and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments to uphold general ledger accuracy.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis, providing insightful commentary on significant movements and variances.
- Support regular financial reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting, preparing financial inputs, performing variance analyses, and reviewing underlying assumptions.
- Supervise bank and cash reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving reconciling items.
- Manage compliance with indirect tax regulations, ensuring accurate preparation and timely submission of statutory returns.
- Support accounts payable and procurement to ensure precise recording of supplier costs aligned with financial reports.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure correct cost allocation and financial reporting for projects and business activities.
- Drive continuous enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools, and finance procedures.
- Assist with year-end audit preparations and respond to audit inquiries by providing necessary reconciliations and documentation.
- Offer ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and project support when needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified accountant designation such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Between 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial or management accounting roles.
- Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, contracting, or project-driven sectors is advantageous.
- Proficient knowledge of financial systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate financial reports and supporting process improvement activities.
