Job description
About EY and the Role
EY India represents a premier strategy advisory practice dedicated to delivering long-term value to clients, employees, and the firm. EY-Parthenon integrates a global network of professionals with specialized strategic capabilities and industry expertise, focused on transforming strategy, transactions, and restructuring to achieve high-impact outcomes. The Finance Transformation Experts team within EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) provides advisory services around accounting processes, regulatory support, and controls, partnering with regional stakeholders to optimize and innovate client finance operations.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to leverage extensive techno-functional expertise to drive holistic transformation across Record to Report (R2R) processes. This role focuses on transformation leadership across various R2R areas rather than direct hands-on technology implementation or project management. The professional will provide subject matter leadership and guide delivery teams in innovating processes around revenue recognition, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, journal entries automation, asset accounting, account reconciliation, sub-ledger accounting, consolidation processes, reporting, notes and disclosures, cost accounting, inventory, and profitability analysis.
Expertise in integration of ERP platforms such as SAP FI/CO/CO-PA, SAP BPC, Oracle Fusion Financials, and AI-based technologies applied to R2R is essential, including designing AI solutions on SAP platforms. Deep understanding of consolidation tools like SAP Group Reporting, Oracle FCCS, and related data structures is necessary.
Business Development and Leadership
The role involves leading pursuit teams to analyze client needs and formulate bespoke finance transformation solutions, developing proposals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to secure business, and championing internal capability development through training and operational improvements.
People Management
Management of a team of 5 to 8 professionals, focusing on coaching, motivation, training, and career development conversations to foster engagement and growth.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Extensive knowledge in finance processes including Record to Report, Invoice to Pay, and Order to Cash.
- Certifications or demonstrated experience with ERP platforms such as SAP S/4 HANA FI/CO/CO-PA, Central Finance, Oracle Fusion Finance, and Oracle NetSuite.
- Familiarity with digital finance tools such as Blackline, Trintech, High Radius, and robotic process automation solutions.
- Understanding of AI/ML and Gen-AI applications in financial process automation, especially in R2R.
- In-depth knowledge of consolidation, reporting, intercompany processes, and ERP data structures.
- Experience with process and data analysis including current and future state evaluation, optimization, and analytics.
- Strong business development, solution ideation, project management, and product building capabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills with ability to manage teams across multiple geographies.
- Resilience in ambiguity, entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to travel as required.
Experience and Educational Background
The ideal candidate should have 2 to 5 years of relevant consulting experience specifically in Record to Report transformation (excluding pure industry user experience). Preference is given to those with experience in multinational consulting or Big Four firms and exposure to clients across Indian and global markets.
Academic qualifications: CA, MBA (Finance with a commerce background), CWA, CMA, CFA, or M.Com.
