AGEM Property Group is a Western Australian privately owned commercial property investment funds manager focused on creating lasting wealth and stability for families. The team works closely with investors and is actively involved in every property co-investment.

Position Summary

The Senior Finance Manager / Head of Finance is expected to be a hands-on leader who balances strategic, commercial decision-making with detailed ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and reporting. This role leads finance functions across the operating business, property fund accounting, and compliance with Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage business financial activities including reporting, cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of departmental expenses.
  • Maintain control over finance metrics, assumptions, documentation, and scheduling of sign-offs.
  • Develop and deliver dashboards and comprehensive reporting packs clarifying financial changes and implications.
  • Supervise fund accounting, reporting, distribution processes, and validation of key assumptions.
  • Oversee banking relationships including annual reviews, loan facilities, covenants, lender communication, and debt strategy formulation.
  • Coordinate AFSL compliance processes liaising with external advisors and investor relations teams.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Investor Relations, and Property Funds teams on commercial decisions, evaluating fund performance, acquisitions, leasing assumptions, tenant negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial inputs for investor communications and new property settlements.
  • Lead the finance team comprising a senior fund accountant and external bookkeeper, ensuring high standards in models, reports, processes, controls, systems, and communication.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified CA, CPA, or CFA professional with at least 10 years of pertinent technical finance experience.
  • Background in property, funds management, investment, banking, or private business sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrates a hands-on and commercially oriented mindset, comfortable with detailed financial work.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with clear communication skills and an emphasis on leveraging technology and continuous improvement.
