Role Overview
We are looking for a commercially focused finance professional with expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and a strong accounting background. This position is responsible for leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, commission governance, and selected financial control and compliance tasks within Logicalis Australia. Reporting to the Finance Director with daily guidance from the Business Operations Manager, this role offers a mix of business partnering, performance analysis, and hands-on finance functions, combining commercial and operational finance exposure. Initially a 12-month contract, there is potential for the role to transition to permanent.
Key Duties
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Prepare monthly management reports, including financial commentary and analysis across various business sectors.
- Track profitability, bookings, backlog, and essential operational KPIs.
- Create financial models and deliver insights to underpin strategic decisions.
- Fulfill vendor and Group reporting requirements, including Microsoft and Cisco reports.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Leadership teams to support business growth and performance.
- Produce ad hoc analyses and reports as needed.
- Generate and present weekly sales reports to senior leaders, analyzing pipeline, backlog, and revenue opportunities.
- Manage daily cash flow reporting and forecasts, submitting weekly cash flow reports to Logicalis Group.
- Support onboarding checks for customers and suppliers alongside the Finance Director.
- Oversee receivables performance and promote initiatives to improve working capital.
- Assist month-end close activities such as revenue recognition, journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
- Manage project accounting and percentage-of-completion reporting within Professional Services.
- Ensure accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accounting controls.
- Support accounts receivable management via regular debtor performance reviews and collections.
- Review commission calculations and maintain governance for commission policies.
- Assist in developing and administering sales commission and variable remuneration plans in partnership with HR.
- Serve as a point of escalation for commission-related concerns.
- Contribute to compliance and governance activities including Modern Slavery reporting, vendor assessments, insurance renewals, lease accounting, and fixed asset management.
- Administer IFRS 16 reporting and lease management.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and local regulations.
- Engage in governance forums and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA or CPA accreditation is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in FP&A, financial accounting, commercial finance, or financial reporting roles.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Deep technical accounting knowledge coupled with financial control experience.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, especially the FinOps module, is highly desirable.
- Background in technology, managed services, or project-driven environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting methods is advantageous.
