Job purpose
This position is responsible for steering platform initiatives from kickoff to completion, making sure delivery outcomes support business priorities and follow enterprise standards. The role serves as the central point of coordination between engineering, product, operations, and external suppliers, keeping communication aligned and execution on track. It also covers testing and deployment readiness, including UAT preparation and acceptance criteria, together with quality and compliance activities such as CIS hardening and audit preparedness. In addition, the role includes data centre-related work like firewall configuration and cluster migration to close security weaknesses.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of platform projects, from planning to closure, with defined scope, objectives, and success measures linked to business results.
- Create detailed technical delivery plans for build and migration work, including resourcing, timelines, and task dependencies.
- Identify, track, and resolve project risks, issues, and change requests in a timely way to keep delivery moving.
- Act as the main coordination point among engineering, product, operations, and vendors to ensure consistent stakeholder updates.
- Run periodic progress reviews, steering meetings, and technical discussions to maintain alignment and remove blockers.
- Work with architects and technical leads to validate platform design, integration approach, and performance outcomes.
- Prepare the project for testing and release by coordinating UAT planning and defining acceptance criteria.
- Keep project records current, including charters, risk logs, meeting notes, and status updates.
- Apply quality assurance controls and compliance checks, including CIS hardening and audit readiness activities.
- Coordinate data centre tasks such as firewall setup and cluster migration to address identified security gaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure delivery, or technical programme work, including 2–3 years in technical project management within platform or infrastructure environments.
- Practical exposure to Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, data centre networking, and data centre operations.
- Experience working with stakeholders and vendors, along with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to listen well, learn quickly, understand technical details, and translate them into workable solutions.
- Familiarity with telco or mobile network environments is an added advantage.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or PMI-ACP is preferred.
- IT service management certification such as ITIL v4 Foundation or above is preferred.
- Network and security certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Security+ are advantageous.
