Senior Executive - Internal Audit at Leading Textile Business Group

Overview

A prominent business and industrial conglomerate in the textile sector is seeking a Senior Executive specializing in Internal Audit. The role is based in Gazipur (Member Bari), Dhaka, Bangladesh and focuses on performing comprehensive internal audits to enhance company processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement internal audit plans specific to assigned tasks.
• Apply suitable auditing techniques tailored to varied organizational contexts to improve operations.
• Contribute towards designing and refining internal audit tools and methodologies for company benefit.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of organizational internal control systems and identify weaknesses to report to management.
• Verify accuracy of financial transactions by thorough checking of bills and vouchers and ensure correct ledger entries.
• Conduct timely physical verification of company inventories and fixed assets, reporting findings clearly.
• Perform market price verification of locally purchased items to detect significant price deviations and inform management accordingly.
• Carry out audits across multiple departments including Production, Store, Inventory, Commercial, Human Resources & Administration, Accounts, and Compliance.
• Assess inventory management practices and validate physical stock levels.
• Identify risks in operations, areas where controls are weak, and issues related to regulatory compliance.
• Ensure all audits align with company policies, internal procedures, and relevant legal standards.
• Compile comprehensive audit reports supported by sufficient documented evidence.
• Maintain proper documentation to support audit outcomes.
• Review company financial statements and communicate assessments to management.
• Provide assistance during external audits by delivering internal audit reports and pertinent information.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by the management.

Educational Qualifications

• MBA or MCom, particularly with concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• Alternatively, CA (CC) certification with a minimum of 800 marks completed.

Experience and Additional Requirements

• Minimum of three to four years of relevant experience, specifically within Internal Audit roles in garments or knit garments industries.
• Experience gained during CA firm training is not considered applicable.
• Proficient in computer applications including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Skilled in computer-based accounting systems and capable of producing detailed reports and quantitative analyses.
• Fluency in both English and Bangla, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location and Work Conditions

The position requires working onsite at the company premises located in Gazipur, Dhaka.
