Overview
This senior editorial role focuses on India's energy transition, particularly where it intersects with agriculture through bioenergy sources such as ethanol, biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), biodiesel, biomass, sustainable aviation fuel, and green hydrogen. The position involves leading comprehensive coverage that connects policy developments to practical impacts for plants, investors, and feedstock suppliers, establishing the publication as an authoritative voice.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily news output and analytical content along the bioenergy value chain.
- Ensure editorial excellence with emphasis on factual accuracy, proper sourcing, and clear communication.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of sources and contributors across various industry segments.
- Safeguard the newsroom's independence in all editorial decisions.
- Manage the editorial schedule, balancing news, policy analysis, project updates, and interviews.
- Convert complex policy information such as blending mandates, biogas schemes, and tenders into actionable articles for readers.
- Expand contacts within oil marketing companies, project developers, technology providers, financiers, and government entities.
- Review and refine all written material to maintain editorial standards before publication.
- Commission and oversee interviews and feature stories with sector experts domestically and internationally.
- Collaborate with social media and content teams to broaden the reach of published coverage.
- Recruit and mentor reporters as the publication expands.
- Maintain editorial integrity by keeping commercial interests separate from editorial decisions, escalating conflicts when necessary.
Additional Information
The role is preferably located in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The organization operates multiple platforms under one umbrella, and flexibility to work across these platforms as per business requirements is expected. The compensation is competitive, ranging from Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 100,000 per month.
