Job description
About Kpop Exchange
Kpop Exchange is a quickly expanding specialty retailer focusing on K-pop merchandise, albums, and collectibles, serving a global fanbase through its e-commerce platform, TikTok Shop, and a physical store in Aurora, Colorado. Having doubled its business in recent years, the company is scaling to meet increasing demand while operating a complex product catalog with thousands of SKUs across multiple categories.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive e-commerce leader to manage product and catalog operations across Shopify, TikTok Shop, and wider social-commerce channels. This full-time position is remote-friendly with preference for Denver metro area candidates and reports directly to the Founder. The role demands close collaboration across departments including marketing, warehouse, retail, design, and customer support, focusing on product launch execution, inventory controls, and process documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end product launches from announcement to preorder, arrival, and stock transition.
- Maintain precise product listings, including titles, descriptions, images, variants, collections, tagging, pricing, and SEO across Shopify and TikTok Shop.
- Use project management tools to coordinate multiple product launches efficiently.
- Handle Shopify catalog quality, merchandising, theme navigation, SEO, and conversion rate enhancements.
- Perform bulk catalog updates and enhance product page quality to improve customer experience.
- Lead TikTok Shop operations and support scaling social-commerce efforts, coordinating information flow among cross-functional teams.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures, documentation, and workflows to standardize launch, pricing, and inventory processes.
- Improve inventory accuracy and reconciliation, specifically for high-value collectibles like photocards.
- Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to enhance operational efficiency and workflow documentation.
- Analyze sales, customer engagement, margin, and demand data to inform merchandising and launch decisions consistently.
- Stabilize the current e-commerce function while planning and building a scalable team, including future hiring and training of specialists.
Work Environment & Schedule
This remote-first role requires availability during key Korean product announcement periods, including some Sunday evenings and select weekday evenings. Flexible hours are designed around launch requirements rather than a standard 9-to-5 schedule, with occasional weekend involvement for major events. Denver-area residents will periodically visit the warehouse and may travel for collaboration or industry events with company-paid expenses.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and location, as a W-2 full-time employee within approved U.S. states. Benefits will be provided through Gusto, with details disclosed at the offer stage.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of direct e-commerce ownership experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Shopify beyond basic product page management.
- Experience managing large, complex, or rapidly moving physical product catalogs.
- Strong project management and ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Capability to create SOPs, documentation, and operational processes from the ground up.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train junior team members and explain complicated topics clearly.
- Data-driven approach to merchandising, assortment, inventory, and launch decisions.
- Deep understanding of consumer psychology especially in collectibles, fandom, social commerce, or scarcity-led product categories.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TikTok Shop or other marketplace platforms.
- Skills in Shopify theme customization, SEO, merchandising, or optimizing conversion rates.
- Background in inventory reconciliation, especially for high-value collectibles.
- Track record of hiring and managing e-commerce specialists.
- Interest or experience in collectibles, sneakers, vinyl, comics, gaming, beauty, music merchandise, or K-pop.
- Academic or professional background in psychology, behavioral science, or merchandising.
- Familiarity with live-commerce platforms such as Whatnot.
Why Join Our Team?
- Opportunity to lead and design a crucial function within a fast-growing, founder-led company.
- Chance to shape the growth of a social-commerce retailer in a unique fandom-driven market.
- Progressive leadership path toward director-level e-commerce responsibilities.
- Work immersed in a dynamic, trend-sensitive collectibles and fan community environment.
Application Process
Applicants must submit a video introduction (5–10 minutes) answering specific questions related to e-commerce experience, data management, training approaches, and affinity with collectibles and fandom culture. Applications without this video will not be considered.
