Senior Director Procurement, Packaging & International

Job Overview

The Hershey Company is seeking a Senior Director of Procurement responsible for leading strategy development and execution in Packaging and International procurement areas. Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer, this senior leadership role involves managing global packaging procurement as well as direct and indirect materials and services for Hershey’s International business unit. The position offers an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide procurement strategy, enhance organizational capabilities, and deliver measurable business impact.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead category management efforts including negotiation, contract formulation, supplier relationship oversight, commodity control, supply assurance, sustainability, and quality standards.
• Implement sustainability initiatives addressing packaging, environmental concerns, and regenerative agriculture aligned with Hershey’s commitments.
• Collaborate with executive leaders to develop commercial approaches and enhance business resiliency focused on sustainable top-line growth and cost efficiency.
• Outline and execute long-term procurement strategies and plans.
• Advance digital transformation and technology adoption within procurement to elevate efficiency and unlock additional value.
• Create and apply risk management frameworks to minimize supply volatility, enhance predictability, and mitigate risks.
• Lead and mentor a team of approximately 35 professionals, fostering skill development, talent pipelines, and leadership growth.
• Ensure compliance with governance practices, procurement policies, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Packaging, Engineering, or related discipline required; MBA or master’s degree preferred.
• At least 10 to 15 years of procurement experience with a minimum of 7 years in leadership roles within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
• Preferably hands-on experience in packaging, ingredients, commodities, and service procurement.
