Role overview

This senior leadership opportunity is for a U.S.-based professional who will help shape how a fast-moving, mission-driven organization grows, adapts, and builds the capabilities needed for long-term success. Working closely with executive leaders and HR partners, the role turns business strategy into practical plans for organizational structure, workforce planning, and capability development. It is centered on improving organizational effectiveness, strengthening leadership alignment, and supporting enterprise performance while maintaining culture and agility.

The role also contributes to major transformation efforts, ensuring teams, systems, and ways of working are designed for scale, clarity, and measurable impact. Sitting at the crossroads of strategy, talent, and change, this position helps define the future operating model and workforce direction of the business.

Key accountabilities

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and People Success teams to connect organizational strategy with enterprise and functional goals so execution stays aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive organizational design work, including operating model changes, governance setup, role definition, workforce alignment, and improved cross-functional effectiveness.
  • Evaluate organizational health and performance to uncover opportunities that strengthen scalability, decision-making, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and roll out workforce and capability plans that ensure the business has the right skills and talent for present and future needs.
  • Support succession planning, talent reviews, and capability gap analysis together with HR and business leadership.
  • Lead change management across enterprise initiatives, including impact analysis, readiness checks, and adoption planning for transformation efforts.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, tools, and approaches that bring consistency to organizational effectiveness and change execution across the company.
  • Advise senior leadership by converting workforce data, trends, and business requirements into clear, actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience in organizational strategy, effectiveness, transformation, workforce planning, human capital consulting, or a closely related area.
  • Experience that combines consulting and in-house leadership work is preferred, especially in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or similarly complex matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale organizational change, operating model redesign, or enterprise capability-building programs.
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce strategy, leadership development, and change management.
  • High executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex matrix organizations.
  • Excellent skills in strategic thinking, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication.
  • Ability to convert business strategy into practical and scalable organization and talent solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a consulting-style mindset.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, AI-supported workforce planning, and future-of-work topics is an advantage.
  • Must be comfortable traveling up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Benefits and compensation

  • Competitive base pay ranging from $219,000 to $285,000 per year.
  • Short-term incentive bonus plus long-term equity compensation in the form of stock.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Life insurance and disability protection.
  • Generous paid time off and support for flexible work-life balance.
  • Wellness initiatives and employee assistance resources.
  • Financial, mental health, and broader well-being benefits designed to support employees holistically.

Application and processing information

This role is being handled by a partner company that manages applications and next steps. Applications are reviewed through an AI-assisted matching process designed to evaluate candidates against the role’s core requirements and produce a shortlist for the hiring company. Final decisions, interviews, and assessments are managed internally by the employer.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that their personal data may be processed for recruitment evaluation and shared with the hiring employer as part of pre-contractual and legitimate-interest processing under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Candidates may exercise data rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection at any time.
