About the Role
SSM Health is seeking a Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations for the Greater St. Louis region to provide leadership and oversight for system-wide logistics and inventory management strategies. This role ensures alignment with organizational vision and metrics, promoting consistent, innovative supply chain operations across various care settings while fostering strong relationships within and outside the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support all supply chain functions within the assigned region, administering relevant policies and acting as a liaison to various departments.
- Collaborate closely with regional leaders through regular updates and Tier Huddles to align operational goals with organizational priorities.
- Develop and monitor regional supply chain tactics to uphold system strategies providing quality healthcare services.
- Standardize and implement best practices in logistics, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management to enhance operational performance.
- Foster a service-oriented culture while managing human resources, ensuring employee engagement, adherence to policies, and effective departmental structure. Identify succession planning needs.
- Oversee supply chain automation initiatives and work with executive and clinical leaders to maintain superior customer experience.
- Create and execute financial improvement strategies focused on efficiency and cost savings.
- Coordinate resolutions of supply chain integration and consolidation issues in collaboration with peers and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of ten years’ industry experience, including at least five years in leadership roles.
- No professional licenses or certifications required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs and occasionally between 25-50 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive limb movements.
- Use of near and far vision and color distinction routinely.
- Effective hearing and speaking for information sharing and to detect alarms or equipment malfunctions.
- Frequent use of keyboards and data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, gripping, and rare climbing activities.
