Position Overview

Cacique Foods is looking for an innovative Senior Director of Procurement to lead and enhance the entire procurement process within its expanding food production operations. This leadership role is critical to driving cost efficiencies, maintaining steady supply chains, fostering innovation, and establishing a robust and sustainable procurement infrastructure. The position involves collaborating closely with executive teams across Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Product Development to influence growth strategies, including product rollouts and long-term sourcing plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement procurement strategies aimed at optimizing costs, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with cross-department teams such as finance, legal, operations, and product development to harmonize sourcing requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure steady supplies at competitive prices.
  • Formulate long-range capacity planning and supply chain resilience strategies.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecast procurement and production expenditures.
  • Guarantee uninterrupted supply chains that meet production and operational objectives.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring contractual compliance and service level adherence.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support product innovation and launch efforts through cooperative procurement approaches.
  • Utilize procurement analytics for strategic planning and cost containment.
  • Achieve designated annual procurement productivity and savings targets.
  • Implement industry best practices, standards, and controls within procurement.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management programs including routine performance evaluations and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to actively manage and mitigate supply risks.
  • Engage suppliers’ technical expertise for raw material and packaging innovations.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier developments to forecast changes and manage risk.
  • Lead and mentor procurement teams while promoting their professional growth and development.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators for supply chain effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a comprehensive 3-year strategic master plan including major growth initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications & Education

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business administration is required; an MBA is advantageous.
  • At least ten years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a minimum of three to five years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong familiarity with supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • Proven track record in fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, Certified Supply Chain Professional, CIPS, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma are highly valued.
