Senior Director of Procurement

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Director of Procurement to spearhead our organization's strategic sourcing efforts and drive excellence in procurement across the enterprise. This senior leadership position demands the development and execution of comprehensive procurement strategies, enhancing supplier relationships, streamlining procurement operations, and establishing scalable processes that support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's long-term business goals.
• Oversee all procurement activities including strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relations, purchasing operations, contract management, and governance.
• Create sourcing approaches that boost supplier performance, increase operational efficiency, and deliver enduring value.
• Maintain and strengthen vital partnerships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and ongoing improvement.
• Lead complex negotiations and manage procurement contracts to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and uninterrupted operations.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership and departments such as Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, and Legal to ensure procurement initiatives support overall enterprise priorities.
• Develop procurement policies, standards, and best practices to enhance consistency, transparency, and efficiency.
• Track procurement performance via dashboards, supplier scorecards, spend analyses, and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct market and supplier analysis along with industry trend monitoring to inform strategic sourcing and long-range planning.
• Drive procurement transformation projects including process re-engineering, adoption of digital solutions, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
• Enhance supplier performance management, mitigate procurement risks, and support business continuity planning within the supply chain.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a talented procurement leadership team fostering a culture of accountability, cooperation, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• Advanced degrees such as an MBA are highly preferred.
• At least 12 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership roles overseeing enterprise-level procurement functions.
• Proven track record of leading procurement teams in complex and multi-site or fast-growing organizations.
• Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier and category management, procurement operations, commercial negotiations, and contract administration.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement governance, supplier performance evaluation, operational excellence, and procurement best practices at the enterprise scale.
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior leadership decisions.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial planning, procurement metrics, and executive reporting.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing procurement technologies, including ERP systems, supplier management applications, procurement analytics, and digital transformation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications like Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalents.
• Experience in sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, technology, industrial, consumer goods, retail, logistics, aerospace, and life sciences.
• Background leading procurement transformation, supplier development, strategic sourcing optimization, or operational excellence projects.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms, eProcurement software, supplier relationship management systems, spend analytics, and procurement automation technology.
