About the Role

A well-established mid-market energy company is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead and enhance the operational framework, ensuring the company achieves scalable, efficient, and measurable outcomes. This pivotal leadership position reports directly to the COO or CEO and focuses on translating company strategies into concrete operational successes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily operations including delivery, supply and vendor management, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Convert corporate strategic goals into detailed operational plans, budgets, and concrete performance objectives.
  • Mentor and develop operations leadership and their teams, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support planning, resource management, and priority setting.
  • Design and refine processes for scalability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop operational data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools for executive decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as throughput, unit economics, on-time delivery, utilization, and cost-to-serve.
  • Manage ERP and other operational tools while driving ongoing improvements.
  • Lead financial oversight including budget management, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Achieve measurable efficiency, margin, and productivity improvements with baseline metrics comparison.
  • Administer vendor, partner, and supplier contracts and relationships.
  • Scale operational capabilities aligned with revenue while maintaining quality and margin controls.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory standards, with an emphasis on energy sector regulations.
  • Develop contingency plans and resilient processes suited for regulated environments.
  • Drive cross-departmental initiatives and manage organizational change through to completion.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in operations, including over 5 years in leading at the director level or higher.
  • Proven results in improving efficiency, reducing costs, increasing throughput, enhancing punctual delivery, or improving margins.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and driving complex, cross-functional execution.
  • Background in developing operational processes, systems, and executive reporting from inception.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a record of recruiting, developing, and managing operational teams.
  • Industry experience in energy, utilities, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, or similarly regulated and complex operational environments.
  • Resume should detail scope including team sizes, budget responsibilities, geographic reach, technology and systems used, and specific operational achievements.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 annually.
  • Additional compensation through performance-based bonuses and equity participation.
  • Fully remote work setup within the United States.
