Role summary

This leadership position is centered on designing and improving the organization’s financial operations framework. The goal is to strengthen efficiency, compliance, and data quality through standardized processes, automation, and strong governance. The role is expected to report to the Chief Financial Officer or Vice President of Financial Operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and continuously refine the financial operations model, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report processes.
  • Create standard operating procedures and harmonized global execution guidelines for financial operations.
  • Strengthen the capabilities of the Financial Shared Services Center or equivalent financial middle-office functions.
  • Spot process inefficiencies and redesign workflows to improve performance.
  • Lead end-to-end automation initiatives using tools such as RPA and AI-enabled finance applications.
  • Improve the speed and accuracy of settlements, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Guide the optimization and integration of ERP, finance, and BI systems.
  • Partner with IT to standardize financial data flows and enable real-time information access.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and other monitoring tools for financial operations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control, audit, and regulatory expectations, including SOX where applicable.
  • Build methods to identify, monitor, and reduce financial operational risk.
  • Continuously improve internal control processes.
  • Assess operational cost structures and propose improvement plans.
  • Increase workforce productivity using measures such as cost per transaction and cost per invoice.
  • Enhance shared services and centralized operating models.
  • Work across finance, business, IT, and supply chain teams to support transformation efforts.
  • Lead major financial change programs and operational upgrades.
  • Manage teams focused on process improvement and financial operations, including process experts and system analysts.
  • Develop competency models and training pathways for financial operations talent.
  • Capture, standardize, and scale best practices across the function.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 20 years of experience in finance or operations management.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Hands-on familiarity with financial shared services, finance process management, or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Prior exposure to ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement methods such as Lean or Six Sigma; Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical ability and solid project management skills.
  • Experience in financial operations within multinational companies or large conglomerates is preferred.
