Division Overview

The MSD Division specializes in delivering state-of-the-art analytical instruments, applications, software, and services across the Asia-Pacific region. Their focus is on designing, manufacturing, and supporting advanced analytical workflows that enable significant scientific discoveries and optimize operational performance.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Services for the APAC region will oversee the Services Profit and Loss (P&L) along with the overall regional performance. This role encompasses management of field service delivery, operations, customer support, and execution of regional service strategies across diverse markets. Services include instrument installations, validations, parts and lifecycle support, field maintenance, and service contracts for MSD products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of service professionals across multiple APAC countries.
  • Drive operational excellence, enhance customer satisfaction, and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Formulate and implement regional service strategies aligned with global business goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, IT, HR, and Finance departments to ensure cohesive and scalable growth.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships to support regional growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Manage the APAC Services P&L, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and positive cash flow.
  • Oversee Field Service Operations, Service Delivery, Field Applications, and Customer Success Management throughout the region.
  • Identify evolving customer needs and deploy effective service solutions across APAC markets to deliver measurable business value.
  • Maintain high service standards and consistency for key regional and global accounts.
  • Develop and execute both near-term (1–2 years) and long-term (3–5 years) service strategies adhering to overall business directives.
  • Synchronize efforts with global service leadership for knowledge sharing and operational uniformity.
  • Implement standardized procedures, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and management dashboards to enhance oversight and responsibility.
  • Promote the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) culture to foster continuous progress.
  • Collaborate with regional commercial leaders and global partners to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Enhance talent development, succession planning, and leadership capabilities within the APAC Services division.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory; MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Extensive leadership experience in service operations within multinational organizations.
  • Proven track record managing regional P&L with consistent profitable growth.
  • Demonstrated capability to expand service operations across various countries within the Asia-Pacific.
  • Experience functioning effectively in a matrixed global environment.
  • Strong commercial insight with experience collaborating with sales and business development teams.
  • Ability to recognize customer requirements and develop distinctive service solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% within the APAC region.
