About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Deli Assistant to join our cafe team located at ATU Galway, Monivea Road. This full-time, onsite position offers a fantastic work-life balance during term time, with weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays off.
Working Hours
The role requires a minimum of 35 hours per week, generally between 30 and 40 hours weekly. Shift timings typically run from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with some variation possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the weekly rota scheduling for a team of three staff members.
- Place weekly orders with the head office kitchen team accurately and on time.
- Operate the till with proficiency, including end-of-day cash reconciliation.
- Prepare hot food dishes focusing on quality, presentation, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment throughout the day.
- Support team members by assisting in the wash-up area during busy periods.
- Welcome, train, and mentor new team members, sharing expertise to help them integrate smoothly into their roles.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar deli assistant role.
- Confidence in cash handling and accurate till operation.
- Previous barista training or experience in preparing quality coffee and beverages is essential.
