Job Overview
We are seeking a full-time Junior Deli Assistant to join our team at the café located on Monivea Road within ATU Galway. This role supports the Senior Deli Assistant and involves creating a welcoming environment for students and staff while delivering quality customer service.
Work Schedule
This is a term-time position, offering a minimum of 35 hours per week with a typical range of 30-40 hours. Workdays run approximately from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with some variation possible. Weekends, bank holidays, and college closures are days off, providing an excellent work-life balance.
Key Duties
- Operate the cash register and handle closing cash procedures daily.
- Prepare various breakfast items and assist with lunch preparation using supplies from the main kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your work area throughout the day to ensure a pleasant atmosphere.
- Support team members by assisting in the wash-up area during busy periods.
- Assist in welcoming and training new team members by sharing knowledge and helping them adapt to the role.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in a deli or equivalent customer service role is advantageous but not mandatory; candidates with at least six months of full-time experience in a similar role are encouraged to apply.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
- Enjoyment in teamwork and maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude daily.
- A genuine interest in hospitality with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
