Job description
Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Protection & Privacy Specialist to lead and enhance our data privacy and protection initiatives. This position involves overseeing daily privacy operations, conducting thorough privacy risk evaluations, reviewing personal data management protocols, and aiding in investigations and resolution of privacy-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations connected to data protection, including handling complaints, conducting investigations, and addressing privacy inquiries.
- Analyze and audit Personal Data Management Systems ensuring adherence to privacy regulations and industry best practices.
- Lead Personal Data Privacy Risk Assessments and advise on mitigation strategies for identified concerns.
- Scrutinize requests concerning sensitive or special-category personal data processing, providing actionable recommendations for managerial consent.
- Oversee and facilitate processes related to privacy complaints, investigations, and incident management.
- Support compliance with organizational data protection policies and relevant legal frameworks.
- Compile reports, documentation, and provide recommendations linked to privacy evaluations and inquiries.
- Work alongside internal teams to raise privacy awareness and drive continuous enhancement of data protection measures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or comparable fields.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or equivalent credentials.
- At least eight years of pertinent experience in data protection, privacy management, cybersecurity, compliance, or related sectors.
Skills and Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of data protection laws, privacy principles, and governance frameworks.
- Insight into cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, and vulnerability assessments.
- Awareness of emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain and their privacy implications.
- Technical proficiency in computer network concepts, network protocols, and security approaches.
- Experience in conducting privacy risk assessments and facilitating compliance tasks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities alongside excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and priorities efficiently.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
- Arabic language skills are advantageous but not required.
