The Senior Counsellor plays a pivotal role in supporting students dealing with personal challenges, aiming to positively influence their campus experience and effectiveness both academically and personally. The role involves offering both individual and group counselling to empower students to make informed decisions and manage life stressors effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and sustain meaningful relationships with students to foster trust and open communication.
• Arrange and conduct counselling sessions based on student needs and demand.
• Provide guidance on various personal concerns such as stress management, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
• Assist students in navigating personal issues promptly and constructively.
• Facilitate student decision-making processes regarding their personal and academic paths.
• Organize and lead periodic group workshops designed to address collective counselling needs.
• Collaborate with academic staff to review and address individual student concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of a comprehensive student counselling database.
• Direct students to suitable campus support services like Academic Advisors or Career Coaches when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of at least a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related discipline.
• Strong command of English language skills.
• Competent with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office.
• A minimum of four years’ practical experience in counselling or a related professional setting.
