About the Role
The Senior Coordinator of Production Planning will be responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive 12-month production schedule for finished products and components. This plan will align with demand forecasting and safety stock goals to optimize inventory control. The position involves detailed analytical work, precise SKU-level planning, and ensuring data accuracy while collaborating with multiple departments in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and confirm monthly production schedules for finished goods and components to support timely delivery and achieve target fill rates.
- Ensure the production planning parameters in the system remain accurate and reliable.
- Prioritize production activities and inform Demand Planning teams about product availability timelines to maintain transparency for sales and customer service.
- Communicate and influence various cross-functional teams effectively.
- Manage inventories, including finished goods, work-in-progress, excess stock, obsolete items, and slow-moving products.
- Develop proactive strategies for production and inventory to reduce stockouts while managing demand fluctuations and supply limits.
- Maintain and update planning tools and databases to facilitate scheduling, inventory control, and decision-making.
- Coordinate the clearance of obsolete components and manage transitions to new materials to prevent disruption of production.
- Analyze SKU-level lead times, adjusting them to enhance supply dependability and minimize inventory risks.
- Review lead times across product categories, suggesting improvements based on portfolio assessments.
- Assist in special program planning and evaluate performance data to refine future planning tactics.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning or a related role, preferably within the cosmetics or beauty industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including expertise with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with excellent organizational and analytical aptitude.
- Capability to develop and implement both short-term and long-term production plans aligned with company goals.
- Exemplary business judgment coupled with high ethical standards.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Adaptability to thrive within a dynamic, fast-moving, evolving work environment.
- Strong listening skills, a cooperative approach, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
