Senior Content Writer - International Affairs & Geopolitics

About the Role

Jagran New Media is seeking a seasoned Senior Content Editor specializing in Politics, International Affairs, and Geopolitics. The position demands versatility in covering breaking news, crafting detailed feature stories, and developing clear, insightful explainers that help audiences grasp the impact of global developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Report on and analyze political, diplomatic, and global developments with an emphasis on geopolitics.
• Create insightful news reports, feature articles, explanatory content, and analytical pieces on current affairs.
• Spot emerging worldwide trends and evaluate their importance for Indian readers and candidates preparing for competitive exams.
• Produce engaging, thoroughly researched, balanced, and accessible content.
• Collaborate closely with the editorial team to ensure prompt coverage of significant national and international events.
• Maintain editorial accuracy, factual correctness, and comply with newsroom standards.
• Guide and mentor junior staff, offering editorial advice and contributing to content planning and quality enhancement activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
• At least 4 to 5 years of editorial experience in a well-established digital newsroom.
• Documented expertise in covering political and international news.
• In-depth knowledge of global affairs, diplomacy, foreign policy, and geopolitical trends.
• Proven skills in composing engaging feature articles, explainers, and analytical narratives.
• Strong research abilities, communication proficiency, and editorial skills.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-moving digital publishing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of current affairs relevant to competitive exams such as UPSC, SSC, and other government selection tests is advantageous but not essential.
• Familiarity with digital publishing tactics, search engine optimization, and audience engagement strategies is desirable.
