About the Role
Join WSP in the Middle East as a Senior Communications Manager and be part of shaping impactful communication strategies that elevate the company's visibility. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications EMEIAA, you will play a vital role in leading external communications efforts, driving media relations, and cultivating strong stakeholder connections in a dynamic environment valuing innovation and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise and assist in executing communication strategies aligning with WSP’s brand identity, core values, and business goals.
- Oversee external aspects of major corporate communication initiatives, including executive positioning, media relations, institutional engagement, and crisis communication management.
- Manage and coordinate the external communications calendar, including activities related to executive presence and positioning.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders and functional leads to promote project stories, enhance visibility, and attract talent.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams across the Middle East, EMEIAA, and global offices to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency.
- Produce engaging external content such as press releases, articles, presentations, key messages, and multimedia materials.
- Develop executive positioning plans tailored for the Middle East C-suite while maintaining robust media contacts within core trade and business outlets.
- Ensure all communications meet quality standards, brand guidelines, timeliness, and clarity in messaging.
- Analyze and assess the effectiveness of external communications efforts and processes, implementing improvements as needed.
- Keep updated with the latest trends and best practices in external communications to deliver relevant and captivating content.
- Support the Internal Communications team through mentoring and development initiatives.
- Engage with Managing Directors across business units to identify and pursue major opportunity areas within the region.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in communications, including substantial expertise managing media relations programs; experience in listed companies is advantageous.
- Strong track record in developing and implementing external communication programs.
- Fluent Arabic and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Adept at thriving in fast-paced environments, blending strategic insight with hands-on execution amid changing conditions.
- Demonstrated capability to influence senior stakeholders with an agile, client-focused, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills, capable of simplifying complex business communications.
- Driven by teamwork, collaboration, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and organizational rigor in all engagements.
