Job description
Job Summary
WSP is looking for proficient and seasoned Material Inspectors to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a distinguished road infrastructure project. Candidates with robust experience in construction consultancy, specializing in supervision of site activities related to roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels, are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed inspections and testing of construction materials to verify conformity with project specifications and standards.
- Supervise and ensure the quality of building materials such as asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and more.
- Conduct on-site material sampling, testing, and laboratory analysis as necessary.
- Examine project drawings, specifications, and material submissions to confirm compliance with design and quality criteria.
- Produce comprehensive reports documenting material quality, testing outcomes, and any discovered non-compliances while suggesting corrective measures.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address material-related challenges and maintain project schedules.
- Keep precise records of inspections, tests, and associated paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and embrace industry best practices throughout operations.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years' professional experience in construction consultancy focused on road infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.
- Possess a diploma or degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hold valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) as a Material Technician, Material Engineer, or a corresponding certification.
- Deep understanding of construction materials, testing protocols, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong analytical capabilities and detail-oriented problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills facilitating effective teamwork.
- Familiarity with material testing instruments and relevant software tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic work environment.
