Role Overview

This role is designed for an experienced civil construction professional ready to lead a team and ensure successful delivery of diverse civil construction projects. The position focuses on consistently executing projects safely, punctually, within budget, and meeting exceptional standards. The foreman will assure all works comply with council regulations and adhere precisely to design specifications, minimizing the need for rework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee on-site crews, ensuring safe practices and achieving project deadlines.
  • Install infrastructure including water, stormwater, and wastewater pipelines ranging from 25mm to 550mm.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from mobilization to completion.
  • Identify site risks and implement safety measures aiming for zero harm.
  • Track project progress, address issues promptly, and prevent delays.
  • Coordinate effectively with team members and contractors to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure pipework and installations meet technical standards and pass inspections.
  • Maintain accurate onsite records, including safety logs and daily reports.

Experience and Qualifications

  • New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) Level 4 with a Drinking Water specialization, Drainlayer registration, or willingness to obtain these qualifications.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in horizontal infrastructure roles such as Foreman, Leading Hand, or Drainlayer, with strong familiarity of New Zealand’s drainage, water reticulation, and civil construction standards.
  • Proven capacity to lead a crew of up to five individuals and manage work sites.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; Class 2 or higher is preferred.
  • Experience in transporting and operating construction machinery.
  • WTR endorsement is advantageous.
