About the Role
We seek a motivated Senior Category Manager to lead the development of our FMCG assortment, covering Personal Care, Health & Wellness, Baby products, Pets, Household & Laundry, and Toys, tailored for the German market. You will have significant influence in shaping and optimizing the product selection from the outset, directly impacting the growth trajectory of an emerging e-commerce enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and select top products and brands to ensure a competitive, relevant category portfolio for German consumers.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of new product introductions and brand onboarding, including sourcing, launch execution, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and execute category strategies focusing on pricing, promotional campaigns, and assortment enhancements.
- Track and analyze crucial business performance metrics such as sales, profit margins, conversion rates, and site traffic to identify improvement opportunities.
- Study customer feedback, behavior, and market developments to refine category offerings and improve user experience.
Candidate Profile
- Between 4 and 10 years of professional experience within FMCG categories, preferably in retail or e-commerce contexts.
- Comprehensive understanding of the German consumer market and purchasing behavior.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for data interpretation and logical reasoning.
- Excellent communication abilities paired with enthusiasm for ongoing personal and professional development.
- A highly driven, innovative team player committed to aligning efforts with broader company objectives.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in German at an advanced level minimum.
- Preference for candidates based in Düsseldorf or willing to relocate to Berlin.
