Job description
Role overview
We are hiring a Senior Cargo Operations Agent for Jeddah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this position, you will handle cargo operations and customer service activities across both import and export flows, working closely with customers and the local ground handling agent. The role is focused on keeping station operations efficient, supporting revenue and cargo targets, and ensuring that all safety and security requirements are followed in line with host-country and company standards.
What you will do
- Assist the line manager in shaping the station’s operating plan and in delivering strong customer service while helping the team exceed revenue goals.
- Coordinate with the local ground handling agent and the head office cargo team to maintain a consistently high level of service for import and export cargo.
- Monitor ground handling routines so that day-to-day operational activity runs smoothly.
- Support import customers with the release and clearance of their cargo.
- Work with headquarters in Doha and, when needed, origin stations to obtain the right operational support.
- Plan flights to maximize aircraft capacity, manage import and export cargo control, and stay closely aligned with space control and customers so shipments move on time with the right priority and load utilization is optimized.
- Coordinate with customers and cargo claims representatives at head office, and manage discrepancies as well as administrative matters related to station operations.
- Share cargo-related updates with customers, including customs, government, and health authority requirements, and keep head office informed so compliance is maintained and penalties, destruction, or other issues are avoided.
- Ensure cargo arrival notices are formally issued to freight forwarders, agents, and direct customers so shipments do not remain under airline custody for too long, reducing damage risk and freeing warehouse space.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualification and at least 3 years of experience in a related environment. You should understand cargo operations across acceptance, administration, warehouse, ramp, and both export and import procedures. Experience in cargo sales will be considered an advantage, and strong English communication skills are required.
