Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in New York, NY. The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for keeping restaurant and café operations running smoothly, maintaining service standards, improving workflows, and ensuring the business stays aligned with Honeybrains’ health-and-wellness approach.
Key Responsibilities
The role covers day-to-day operational leadership, team coordination, and support for broader business performance.
- Oversee daily restaurant and café operations to maintain steady service quality and efficient execution.
- Build and manage staff schedules while helping team leads coordinate coverage and daily priorities.
- Track inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships to reduce disruptions and keep operations supplied.
- Monitor operational metrics and contribute to budgeting and cost-control efforts.
- Support the rollout of process changes that improve efficiency and reflect the company’s neuroscience-based concept.
- Handle guest interactions, address concerns quickly, and help create a welcoming environment for customers and employees.
- Work with cross-functional partners to keep communication clear and operations aligned.
Qualifications
- Hands-on operations management experience in restaurant, café, or broader hospitality settings.
- Ability to analyze performance data, manage budgets, and support cost optimization.
- Leadership experience in guiding teams, providing feedback, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on guest experience in a wellness-driven brand.
- Background in food service, hospitality, or a related environment; experience with health, wellness, or nutrition-focused concepts is an added advantage.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
