Job Overview
This role involves managing the procurement process including sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, and oversight of diverse purchase requisitions to support manufacturing, engineering, business development, and other internal departments. The position requires strict adherence to organizational policies and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage demand planning within the product scope to ensure supply chain alignment.
- Create and maintain bills of materials in MRP systems relevant to product lines.
- Oversee inventory management, analyze line balances, synchronize demand-supply signals, and maintain product master data, acquiring proficiency in all material planning systems and reporting tools.
- Implement MRP planning directives for production-related parts to uphold manufacturing schedules.
- Develop and execute a detailed supply plan designed to minimize risk and guarantee on-time, quality delivery of products.
- Facilitate purchasing activities by issuing purchase orders and managing master data in MRP systems for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to identify root causes of rejected materials and implement corrective measures to reduce quality defects.
- Work alongside internal stakeholders to apply advanced supply chain strategies such as long-term procurement and design-for-manufacturing initiatives aimed at cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Maintain proactive inventory management to avoid stock shortages and optimize working capital utilization.
- Establish and sustain strong relationships with vendors and distributors to ensure timely delivery updates and monitor work-in-progress status.
- Track and control costs to comply with project budgets and forecasting.
- Ensure all operations align with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate critical supply chain issues promptly to management and engineering groups.
- Analyze supply chain data effectively and produce metric reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years' experience in technical procurement or supply planning roles.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Technical expertise in commodities such as composite raw materials, composite component manufacturing, machining, or soft goods.
- Proven experience managing new product introduction projects, preparing cost models, and negotiation expertise.
- Familiarity with MRP systems and purchasing/planning operations.
- Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and highly adaptable to dynamic and fast-paced environments.
