Job description
About the Role
TestReach is looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to contribute to a major strategic transformation programme in Dublin, Ireland. The position reports to the VP of Operations and Customer Experience and is offered as a 12-month contract. The role sits at the centre of a wide-ranging systems change effort involving a new CRM platform, a business intelligence solution, and related data integration work.
The organisation builds technology and services that support large-scale, high-stakes examinations for test-takers and examining bodies. This role is intended for someone who can connect business needs with technical delivery, support adoption of new systems, and help maintain progress across the programme.
Role Overview
You will take a lead business analysis role across business process redesign, stakeholder coordination, data requirement definition, reporting capability development, and business readiness. Working closely with the Technical Project Manager, internal stakeholders, and implementation partners, you will help ensure that solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
The position calls for strong experience with complex technology and data change initiatives, the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, and a practical approach to driving decisions and delivery across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Run detailed requirements discovery across business areas such as Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR.
- Map existing processes and identify where automation, optimisation, and standardisation can improve performance.
- Shape future-state processes so they align with business goals and the capabilities of the chosen CRM and BI tools.
- Lead workshops, discovery discussions, and stakeholder interviews to capture complete requirements.
- Maintain business requirements, process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer on process mapping, change practices, and the use of new processes, reports, and systems.
- Help prioritise requirements and delivery phases.
- Create and maintain a shared enterprise data glossary.
- Serve as the main business contact for the CRM implementation.
- Work with the CRM partner, technical lead, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are correctly translated into the solution.
- Review proposed workflows, configurations, and process designs against agreed objectives.
- Coordinate business input for solution design, testing, and acceptance.
- Support UAT, business readiness, training, and adoption activities.
- Help resolve questions and decisions relating to requirements and process design in a timely manner.
- Lead the selection and evaluation process for a new BI tool.
- Gather reporting, dashboard, KPI, and analytics needs from across the business.
- Set reporting priorities, success measures, and data requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and validate dashboards, reports, and analytics outputs.
- Coordinate UAT and obtain business approval for reporting deliverables.
- Drive BI rollout and adoption through engagement, training, and documentation.
- Put in place reporting governance, business definitions, and data ownership structures where relevant.
- Work with data engineering and technical teams to define how data from multiple systems should be brought into a central data lake.
- Document business rules, logical data models, data definitions, data ownership, and data quality expectations.
- Support data migration planning, validation, and reconciliation.
- Help ensure data consistency across CRM, BI, and other systems.
- Spot opportunities to improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting across the organisation.
- Partner with the Technical Project Manager to keep business and technical workstreams aligned.
- Own business-side deliverables and stakeholder engagement actions.
- Surface risks, dependencies, gaps, and decisions that could affect delivery.
- Lead cross-functional workshops, governance sessions, and decision forums.
- Provide updates and insights to senior stakeholders and programme sponsors.
- Act as the business lead for the transformation programme, keeping business objectives central to decisions.
- Identify where AI and automation can improve operations, reporting, customer engagement, and decision-making.
- Work with technical teams to evaluate and implement AI-enabled solutions where suitable.
- Promote innovative approaches that increase the value delivered by the programme.
- Build trusted working relationships with stakeholders across all functions.
- Communicate clearly and ensure alignment throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Assess the organisational impact of new systems, processes, reporting structures, and data flows.
- Support the creation of training materials, user guides, business documentation, and adoption plans.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders throughout the transformation journey.
Experience and Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is considered an advantage.
The role requires more than 7 years of experience in business analysis, business transformation, or a closely related area. Candidates should have a proven record of delivering complex business systems, CRM projects, digital transformation work, reporting initiatives, or data programmes.
Experience with enterprise CRM implementations such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms is required. Hands-on experience creating semantic layers and interactive dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is also important, with an emphasis on dashboard user experience.
Strong exposure to cross-department requirements gathering, data integration, data warehousing, analytics, or data lake initiatives is needed. Experience working in collaborative environments that include both business and technical teams is expected. Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and AI agent implementations would be a strong plus.
Desirable Background
Experience in EdTech, secure testing platforms, or regulated SaaS environments would be beneficial. Additional exposure to enterprise-scale integrations or large platform modernisation programmes would also be valuable.
Core Skills
The ideal candidate will bring strong business analysis and requirements elicitation capability, a practical understanding of modern cloud data infrastructure, and proven process mapping and workflow design skills. Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, influence, planning, and prioritisation abilities are essential. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity while helping shape the direction of a major programme.
Key Competencies
- Strategic mindset with a strong focus on delivery.
- Proactive approach with clear ownership of outcomes.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Confidence engaging senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
