Job description

About the Role

KPMG New Zealand is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to help drive strategic change and deliver measurable business value. This position plays an important part in a broad range of AI-focused initiatives and requires strong analytical judgement, sound business thinking, and close collaboration across teams. The main objective is to turn AI adoption into practical improvements that strengthen performance and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and map complex business processes, then identify opportunities for meaningful improvement.
  • Gather and shape requirements through advanced facilitation methods so that different stakeholders stay aligned.
  • Work closely with technical teams, including developers, to convert business needs into workable solutions and spot issues early enough to avoid delivery risks.
  • Support solution design, user testing, training, and adoption activities so they stay connected to business objectives.
  • Keep all stakeholder groups updated with clear, consistent communication on progress, expectations, and outcomes.
  • Assist with strategic work such as business case development, impact assessment, and change planning.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and help strengthen business analysis practice through guidance, coaching, and leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a comparable business analysis role.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, high-performing environment while showing initiative, accuracy, accountability, and comfort with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Strong analytical capability combined with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of software delivery and technology implementation; exposure to Azure, Power Platform, Jira, DevOps, ServiceNow, and SQL is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting AI adoption work, preferably in a professional services setting, would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build durable stakeholder relationships.
  • A strong interest in helping the organisation grow and contributing positively to the wider industry.
