Senior Backend and AI Engineer - AI Product Studio

About the Role

We represent a client, a compact AI product studio based in Dubai, seeking a seasoned Senior Backend and AI Engineer. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity focused on managing the platform and AI components behind a review and attestation solution, along with a certified Arabic legal translation engine. The role encompasses comprehensive oversight from data handling and evaluation to deployment, cost control, and system monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the integration layer, routing, review workflow, attestation, audit trails, and infrastructure of the review platform.
• Oversee the certified Arabic and English legal translation engine, including the design of pipelines, model selection, and assessment.
• Enhance backend robustness to fulfill demands posed by buyers auditing the system's answers.
• Advocate for and substantiate architectural modifications with strong evidence.
• Create significant evaluation mechanisms for translations and agent executions.
• Deploy and instrument the review platform's integration components.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js with over four years of experience delivering backend production software.
• Experienced in managing production services including design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Solid understanding of API and contract design, data modeling, concurrency, caching strategies, and optimizing database performance.
• Specialized expertise in at least two areas: agentic systems, applied large language model (LLM) systems, or evaluation methodologies.
• Comfortable contributing as one of the few engineers in a small product team.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly salary ranging from AED 15,000 to AED 25,000, commensurate with experience.
• Provision of visa sponsorship for candidates.
• Employment commencement date of 1 September.
