Job description
Role Overview
This opportunity is with a leading regional platform looking to bring on a Senior Associate or Manager for its M&A and strategic investments function. The position provides hands-on exposure to the full transaction lifecycle, from assessment through execution, across infrastructure, technology, and other capital-intensive industries in Asia.
The selected candidate will partner closely with senior leaders on deal delivery, investment assessment, and strategic priorities, helping drive inorganic expansion and capital deployment across the platform.
M&A Execution
- Contribute to the full execution process for mergers and acquisitions, including acquisitions, divestments, and strategic investment deals.
- Help manage due diligence activities spanning financial, commercial, and legal areas.
- Liaise with external advisers such as bankers, consultants, and legal teams during the course of each transaction.
- Draft investment decks, presentations, and materials required for internal approvals.
Investment Evaluation & Financial Analysis
- Develop and update financial models covering valuation, discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, and transaction structuring.
- Assess investment opportunities, including minority investments and joint venture structures.
- Run scenario-based and sensitivity analyses to understand potential upside, downside, and risk exposure.
- Support deal structuring conversations and negotiation efforts.
Strategic & Market Analysis
- Carry out sector research and market mapping across relevant industries.
- Review competitive dynamics and identify possible acquisition or partnership targets.
- Assist with strategic assessments such as portfolio optimisation and growth planning.
Stakeholder Management
- Work across internal teams in strategy, finance, and operating units.
- Support engagement with portfolio businesses and joint venture partners.
- Help ensure alignment among stakeholders on the deal rationale and implementation approach.
Requirements
- Approximately 6 to 12 years of relevant experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate development, or transaction advisory.
- Demonstrated strength in financial modelling and valuation.
- Prior exposure to cross-border deals is an advantage.
- Experience in infrastructure, telecom, technology, or other capital-intensive sectors is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with solid stakeholder management skills.
