Role Overview

The Senior Associate in Equity Asset Management is pivotal in managing and enhancing the performance of hospitality assets within the company’s equity portfolio. This role entails overseeing a diverse mix of hotel assets across multiple brands and regions with the core goals of elevating property value by providing strategic operational oversight, improving operating metrics and expense control, maximizing net operating income, and partnering across the organization to implement asset-level and portfolio-wide strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor hospitality asset performance closely, uncover opportunities for operational enhancements, and implement value improvement strategies.
• Develop and assist in financial modeling for evaluating investment prospects involving current or future hotel projects, addressing revenue, expenses, and returns.
• Analyze operational results across the portfolio including hotels, equity stakes, and related properties to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, external partners, and property operators to ensure alignment with operational and asset management plans.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members by sharing expertise in industry best practices, financial analysis, and decision-making processes.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations featuring portfolio performance metrics, investment suggestions, and market analytics for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct detailed research on market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to support informed investment and asset management decisions.
• Travel regularly (approximately two weeks quarterly) to assess hotel leadership, oversee decision-making and timelines, support change management initiatives, and monitor asset conditions and opportunities.
• Participate in due diligence for prospective acquisitions or developments, including site inspections, operational benchmarking, financial evaluations, and risk assessments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, hospitality management, or a closely related discipline; advanced degrees or CFA credentials are advantageous though not mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years' direct asset management experience within real estate sectors.
• Exceptional quantitative capabilities, particularly in financial modeling, Excel proficiency, and data analytical techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities with a demonstrated passion for mentoring and developing talent.
• High precision and care in conducting financial assessments, reporting, and documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at conveying complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
• Proven ability to excel in fast-changing environments and juggle evolving priorities efficiently.
• A research-driven approach underpinning sound analytical and decision-making competencies.
• Collaborative spirit working well across teams and departments.
• Deep understanding of the hospitality industry including hotel operations, real estate, finance, and investment trends, with familiarity across all major hotel brands.
