About the role
ALH Hotels is hiring a Senior Assistant Manager for the Narrabeen Sands Hotel, a standout venue on the Northern Beaches. This position suits an accomplished hospitality leader who is ready to take on a broader remit and operate as a trusted partner to the Publican.
In this role, you will help shape the venue’s culture, service quality, compliance, and commercial performance. The job covers a lively mix of responsibilities, from busy weekend service to overseeing premium gaming and accommodation operations to a consistently high standard. You will be the person the team turns to for guidance, problem-solving, and leadership on shift.
What the role involves
- Build strong relationships with regular guests and become a familiar presence in the local community.
- Work alongside the Publican to ensure the venue runs efficiently, safely, and with a welcoming atmosphere.
- Develop toward broader leadership responsibilities while guiding and supporting the team.
- Anticipate and resolve operational issues before they grow into larger concerns.
- Set the tone for service, energy, and professionalism across every shift.
Inherent requirements
This position is physically active and includes manual handling duties such as shifting stock, moving kegs, and assisting with deliveries. Candidates must be able to carry out these tasks safely and effectively.
About you
You should bring solid hospitality experience from environments such as bars, bistros, or gaming rooms, along with some exposure to supervising others. You will be confident, personable, and capable of representing the venue when senior leadership is not present.
A current RSA and RSG/ARCG, where required under state regulations, is needed for this role.
