Overview

Nanyang Business School competes internationally to attract top professionals for its graduate programs. The Career Development Office supports postgraduate students at various stages of their career and leadership growth journey. This role provides leadership for the MBA Cluster, overseeing career development initiatives, leadership programs, student engagement, and employment outcomes across MBA, EMBA, PMBA, and Nanyang Fellows programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement the overall career development strategy, working with leadership to identify strategic initiatives to maintain premier career services.
  • Offer thought leadership to adapt career development offerings in response to environmental, social, and economic changes impacting MBA employment.
  • Lead delivery of career workshops, networking events, and company presentations aimed at preparing students for their careers.
  • Collaborate with Graduate Studies leadership to create initiatives enhancing student success and career outcomes.
  • Analyze employment trends, student feedback, and market data to optimize career strategies and services.
  • Develop and lead the strategic vision for the MBA Cluster, aligning offerings with student needs and labor market demands.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects that improve the MBA career journey from onboarding through post-graduation.
  • Partner with Employer Engagement to strengthen industry relationships and expand recruitment.
  • Continuously monitor industry changes and feedback to refine career strategies and service models.
  • Guide Career Leads and Senior Career Fellows: recruit, coach, set goals, oversee performance, and ensure high-quality student coaching services.
  • Ensure collaboration across departments to align career support with institutional goals, maintain service quality standards, and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Lead career services for EMBA, PMBA, and Nanyang Fellows by engaging students, identifying leadership development needs, and managing the design and delivery of leadership programs.
  • Advise on all MBA career development offerings to help students achieve career goals, maintain access to job and internship opportunities, and ensure accuracy of employment outcome data for reporting and rankings.
  • Collaborate with Employer Engagement to secure employment and internships, offer market insights, build industry partnerships, and develop targeted employer outreach strategies for MBA talent.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience including leadership roles managing teams, projects, or stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven skill in developing strategic initiatives and handling complex stakeholder networks.
  • Strong understanding of labor markets, career and leadership development, and workforce trends.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives, industry leaders, and postgraduate students.
  • Coaching, facilitation, and counseling expertise to support professionals at different career phases.
  • Preferably experienced in career services or higher education, ideally in a business school context.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to convert market insights into effective strategies.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and committed to excellence with sound judgement and initiative.
