Senior Architect (Design) – UPDA Certified

Role Overview

Levante Holding is seeking a senior architectural design professional to take charge of design activities across construction projects in Qatar. This position focuses on producing well-coordinated, compliant, and high-quality architectural outputs that match project requirements, local regulations, and international standards.

Core Responsibilities

The role involves guiding the architectural design process from early concept development through detailed design, while ensuring alignment with the client brief, project budget, and delivery timelines.

• Direct the development of architectural designs from concept stage through detailed design.
• Make sure design solutions stay consistent with the project brief, client expectations, and budget limits.
• Examine and sign off on drawings, technical specifications, and material choices.
• Work closely with structural, MEP, and other engineering teams to produce integrated design solutions.
• Coordinate design interactions between consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and technical concerns in a timely manner.
• Ensure all work follows Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), local authority rules, and relevant international codes.
• Support approvals and submissions by liaising with government and regulatory authorities.
• Assist the construction phase with technical guidance and design clarifications.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and RFIs as required.
• Carry out site inspections to verify that design intent is being properly implemented.
• Maintain strong documentation standards and high design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver design packages on schedule according to the project programme.
• Contribute to design reviews and value engineering sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• UPDA/MMUP certification is required, with Grade A or B being preferred.
• 10 to 12 years of experience in architectural design for construction projects.
• Background in design consultancy or contractor-side design teams is important.
• Strong working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms.
• Good understanding of Qatar’s local regulatory environment.
• Strong technical detailing and design development capability.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Ability to handle several projects and deadlines at the same time.
• Leadership skills and a collaborative working style.
