About the Role
We seek an accomplished bilingual (Arabic and English) Senior Associate experienced in complex commercial and investment arbitration. This position involves managing critical arbitration disputes and contributing significantly to advocacy and case strategies within a well-established law firm in Doha, Qatar.
Responsibilities
- Manage arbitration cases from initial assessment to final award enforcement.
- Draft and review essential legal documents including pleadings, memorials, written submissions, and arbitration clauses.
- Develop case strategies and support legal analysis and dispute resolution planning.
- Prepare for and actively participate in hearings, including presenting oral submissions and examining witnesses.
- Provide advisory services to clients on arbitration matters across different jurisdictions.
- Offer assistance in arbitration-related court procedures, such as annulment and jurisdictional disputes.
- Maintain effective client relations through transparent communication and practical legal counsel.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in law or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid legal license and admission to practice law.
- Minimum of seven years of post-qualification experience primarily focused on arbitration.
- Fluent command of both Arabic and English, including written and verbal skills.
- Extensive experience with commercial and investment arbitration and knowledge of major arbitration rules and bodies.
- Proficient in drafting pleadings, legal submissions, and arbitration agreements of high quality.
- Strong oral advocacy skills, including preparing for hearings and examining witnesses.
- Excellent research, drafting abilities, and a meticulous eye for detail.
- Competent in independently managing arbitration cases with efficiency.
- Deep understanding of arbitration laws applicable in Egypt, Qatar, and the MENA region.
- Commercially aware with sound judgment and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective client engagement.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with arbitration-related litigation such as annulment and jurisdictional matters.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional and cross-border arbitration cases.
