Job description

About the Role

This position sits within a global KYC function supporting private equity operations and related entity activities. The role is based in Bengaluru and follows a late-evening shift aligned with New York business hours.

The work involves onboarding investors and legal entities, maintaining control documents, supporting compliance-related reviews, and coordinating with cross-functional teams across locations. The position also requires strong attention to detail, accounting awareness, and the ability to improve process efficiency while working in a high-integrity environment.

Shift timing: 6:00 pm to 3:30 am

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the New York team with urgent investor onboarding, legal entity onboarding, and entity dissolution activities.
  • Check newly created entities in MDM and submit financial setup details in client systems.
  • Validate EINs and bank account setup for entities.
  • Maintain the repository for process documents and related records.
  • Review third-party and vendor onboarding in systems and keep the vendor register updated.
  • Respond to questions involving complex fund structures and KYC/AML documentation.
  • Monitor business-unit and compliance policies related to voting proxy shares and retain supporting evidence.
  • Test and escalate LP limitation issues.
  • Review GP deal certificates.
  • Evaluate quarterly VIE/VOE consolidation analysis for client-managed entities.
  • Coordinate with deal teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to consolidate data based on request requirements.
  • Partner closely with multiple teams in New York to assemble information as required by the process.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain SOPs and process documentation.
  • Spot process gaps and suggest ways to automate or streamline manual activities.
  • Support ad hoc projects and operational tasks assigned by the New York team.
  • Help supervisors and team leads train and mentor new joiners.

Candidate Profile

  • Postgraduate candidate with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge.
  • Good analytical thinking and organizational ability.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-driven, quick to learn, and committed to the highest standards of integrity.
  • Able to perform well in a fast-paced professional setting with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Capable of building relationships and communicating effectively across different levels, functions, and locations.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively to meet deadlines in a thorough and efficient way.
  • Willing to contribute to initiatives that improve accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to or understanding of accounting/audit functions, middle or back office operations, and corporate accounting is preferred.
