About the Role
This role is with a global long-only equity fund that invests across all market capitalizations, focusing specifically on the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Situated in a compact yet well-supported team, this is the first dedicated analyst position, offering significant ownership and direct engagement with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and propose investment ideas within the global healthcare and biotech markets.
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on companies, sectors, clinical development pipelines, and regulatory environments.
- Utilize a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to establish and critically evaluate investment theses.
- Support decision-making related to position sizing and overall portfolio construction alongside the portfolio manager.
- Continuously monitor portfolio holdings, upcoming catalysts, and relevant thematic trends in the industry.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings between one and five years of relevant experience, either in asset management, sell-side equity research, or a scientific/clinical background coupled with a strong interest in investing. A Master’s or PhD in life sciences is preferred. Candidates must be adept at both qualitative and quantitative analysis, capable of interpreting clinical trial results, and proficient in building valuation models. Furthermore, a high level of intellectual curiosity, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset are essential to succeed in this pioneering analyst role within a senior team.
