Role Overview
Argyll Scott is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst who combines a robust background in data engineering with strong analytical capabilities. This position suits professionals with 4 to 6 years of experience who have built and managed data pipelines and are now motivated to leverage this expertise to deliver insightful data-driven narratives that directly influence business decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive data analyses to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable patterns, supporting various business units including Revenue, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations.
- Convert complex business inquiries into precise analytical challenges and develop suitable methodologies to address them.
- Create and upkeep clear and impactful dashboards, reports, and data visualizations through BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Serve as a critical bridge between technical data teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of analytical insights tailored to diverse audiences.
- Partner with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), track business outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Deliver presentations of findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional groups.
- Utilize data engineering expertise to assess data sources, identify and resolve quality issues, and collaborate with engineers to guarantee the precision and consistency of data.
- Proactively identify shortcomings in data availability and recommend enhancements to improve data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
- Contribute toward the documentation of data standards, metrics, and lineage to ensure governance and clarity.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in data-centric roles, predominantly in data engineering, ETL development, or data warehousing.
- Advanced skills in SQL, including writing intricate queries, joining data sets, and using subqueries for comprehensive data extraction and analysis.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly employed in data engineering or analysis such as Python, Scala, or R.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, adept at deriving meaningful interpretations from complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills that facilitate translating technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-focused, able to juggle multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
