Role overview

This opportunity is for a Senior Analyst focused on corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions in Canada. The position is offered through a partner company that handles applications and the next stages of the process.

The role is centered on high-impact financial work in a global business setting. You will build models, assess investment and transaction opportunities, and turn analysis into recommendations that help guide major decisions. The position also involves close collaboration with finance, business development, and leadership teams across international business units.

It is a strong fit for a finance professional who wants meaningful responsibility, exposure to senior executives, and room to grow in corporate finance and M&A.

Key accountabilities

  • Create and review financial models to test project outcomes, build business cases, and compare valuation scenarios for strategic initiatives and M&A deals.
  • Carry out detailed financial and commercial assessments to surface the main drivers, opportunities, risks, and practical recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Help organize and coordinate due diligence work for acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate business proposals from financial, operational, legal, and market perspectives to build a complete picture of each opportunity.
  • Examine contracts and financial records to spot possible exposures and suggest ways to reduce risk.
  • Work with teams and stakeholders across regions and business units to support cross-border transactions and strategic programs.
  • Prepare presentations and explain financial findings to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Support business development teams in reviewing opportunities and advancing growth plans.
  • Contribute to better processes, reporting quality, and analytical methods within corporate finance.

Candidate profile

The company is seeking a finance professional with experience in corporate finance, investment analysis, and M&A, along with strong modeling skills and the ability to communicate clearly. The person in this role should be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, handling complex information, and providing analysis that supports strategic choices.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a closely related discipline.
  • Between 2 and 4 years of professional experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investment analysis, or a similar area.
  • Strong capability in financial modeling, including valuation work and business case analysis.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, critical reasoning, and a careful eye for detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with executives, colleagues, customers, and financial institutions.
  • A collaborative, team-first attitude with the ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities.
  • An MBA, M.Sc., or an equivalent advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as CBV, CPA, or CFA, whether completed or in progress, are an asset.
  • French and English fluency is preferred; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive group insurance coverage.
  • Access to telemedicine and an employee and family assistance program.
  • Employee stock purchase plan.
  • Group RRSP program.
  • Defined benefit pension plan.
  • Option to take sabbatical leave.
  • Flexible working hours and a work-from-home policy.
  • Improved parental leave support.
  • Opportunity to contribute to significant global projects and interact with senior leadership.
  • Career growth in a collaborative and innovative workplace.
