About Mastercard

Mastercard operates in more than 200 countries and territories, enabling secure, easy, and modern digital payments. The company works with customers, partners, and networks to build a more sustainable economy and help people, businesses, and governments reach their full potential.

Role overview

Mastercard is hiring a Senior Analyst to join its New Zealand & Pacific Islands team. This position supports customer relationship growth across the Pacific region and provides practical exposure to account management, payments, and market development. The role spans a varied portfolio of issuer and acquirer customers and involves close coordination with Account Managers and internal teams. You will contribute to customer initiatives, review business performance, assist with strategic planning, and support projects that advance digital payments and financial inclusion across the Pacific Islands. With time, the role can expand into greater customer ownership and broader account management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining and expanding customer relationships across Mastercard’s Pacific Islands portfolio.
  • Work alongside Account Managers on account plans, growth ideas, and customer strategy.
  • Create presentations, business review packs, performance reports, and other client-facing documents.
  • Study customer results, transaction patterns, and market data to inform commercial choices.
  • Coordinate with Product, Services, Finance, Legal, and Delivery teams on customer priorities and initiatives.
  • Support strategic work that promotes digital payment adoption, customer engagement, and financial inclusion.
  • Help prepare customer meetings, including agendas, action logs, and follow-up tasks.
  • Monitor account milestones and priorities to support timely execution.
  • Develop understanding of the payments ecosystem, customer requirements, and Pacific Islands market trends.
  • Gradually take on ownership of smaller accounts and support growth opportunities in the portfolio.

What we are looking for

  • Background in account management, client services, consulting, commercial operations, or a similar business area.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, with a talent for turning data into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced capability in PowerPoint and Excel, including the creation of polished business materials.
  • Highly organised approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle several priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Interest in payments, financial services, and customer growth.
  • Exposure to financial services, payments, consulting, or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
  • Motivation to build a long-term career in account management and customer leadership.

Corporate security responsibility

Anyone who works for or on behalf of Mastercard and has access to company assets, systems, or information is expected to follow strict security standards. This includes complying with security policies and practices, protecting confidentiality and integrity of information, reporting suspected breaches or violations, and completing all required security training on time.
