About the Role

In this position, you will be part of the Business Support Team in a busy, fast-moving environment. The work involves delivering administrative, human resource, and financial assistance to the Office of the Director-General, Office of the Deputy Director-General, the Chief Human Resource Officer, as well as directors, managers, and staff across Service Support & Corporate Services.

The role is important to the smooth functioning of the team. You will help maintain business continuity by providing prompt, professional support that keeps day-to-day operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, put in place, maintain, and periodically improve financial and administrative procedures related to human, financial, and physical resources, including travel arrangements, purchasing and payment for goods and services, and records management, while following current legislation, departmental procedures, and financial/administrative delegations.
  • Deliver accurate, responsive, and high-quality administrative guidance and support.
  • Use a strong level of proficiency across software applications and databases to administer services effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues by understanding different team roles and contributing to shared service delivery.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external clients and stakeholders on relevant enquiries.
  • Show cultural capability, or a clear commitment to building it, to support an inclusive workplace aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019 and departmental initiatives and community partnerships that help maintain cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
