Role Overview
The position of Senior Accountant in Financial Reporting & Taxation reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting & Taxation. The role involves maintaining accurate accounting records for investment funds and development properties, managing cash flows, preparing investor distributions, and supporting financial statement preparation and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Record month-end adjusting and capital entries related to investment funds and development properties.
- Track cash flow activities and prepare payments for investors and other parties.
- Support invoice coding to the appropriate fund and general ledger accounts.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare year-end audit and tax working papers within deadlines.
- Compile monthly reports for external parties.
- Coordinate with management and third-party financial data providers.
- Handle ad-hoc projects related to internal and external reporting.
- Assist with other departmental functions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Exposure to investment companies and real estate sectors is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Motivated and capable of meeting deadlines while collaborating effectively.
- Sound business judgment with the capacity to handle multiple tasks independently.
- Proactive and able to work without needing constant guidance.
- Familiarity with Yardi software preferred.
