Senior Accountant

Role overview

An established client in Dubai is hiring a Senior Accountant to strengthen its finance team. This position suits a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable with day-to-day finance operations, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and accurate reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Handle routine accounting work such as bookkeeping, posting journal entries, and processing receipts and payments.
• Draft weekly and monthly financial and sales reports.
• Manage both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Carry out reconciliation work for bank accounts, payables, and receivables.
• Assist with cash flow planning, budgeting activities, and financial analysis.
• Review debtor ageing and keep vendor information up to date.
• Support VAT and tax obligations, including calculations and related reporting.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Help prepare audit-ready records and support internal as well as external audit work.
• Communicate with banks, clients, and other relevant parties as needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• ACCA or CA qualification will be considered an advantage.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience is needed.
• Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, reconciliations, VAT, and taxation is expected.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
• Experience with Zoho is preferred.
• Good analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills are important.
• Arabic language ability is desirable, though not mandatory.
