About the Company

The company offers comprehensive solutions ranging from design and construction to ongoing maintenance, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team including civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers dedicated to delivering precise, high-quality infrastructure projects throughout the region.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage complete project and job cost accounting cycles, including documenting transactions comprehensively.
  • Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and ensure revenue recognition aligns with IFRS 15 standards.
  • Oversee retention receivables and payables, review subcontractor progress payments and related certifications.
  • Monitor budgets vigilantly and track any deviations in costs.
  • Compile monthly management accounts and financial statements, handling month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger and conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide management with detailed project profitability and margin analyses.
  • Ensure adherence to Qatar tax laws by preparing and submitting Corporate Income Tax returns and managing Withholding Tax compliance for foreign vendors.
  • Engage with Qatar's General Tax Authority as necessary and retain accurate documentation for tax reviews and audits.
  • Manage billing processes by coordinating progress invoicing and monitoring accounts receivable, including aging reports and collections follow-up.
  • Process and verify supplier and subcontractor invoices with corresponding documents like LPOs, delivery notes, and payment certifications.
  • Prepare and review payment schedules, vouchers, and execute timely payment transactions via bank transfer, cheque, or WPS.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies, and support cash flow planning by monitoring bank balances, facilities, and guarantees.
  • Maintain internal control compliance and support both internal and external audit requirements.
  • Enhance accounting procedures and optimize the utilization of ERP systems to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of accounting experience, including 3 to 5 years in the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS standards and construction contract accounting methodology.
  • Practical knowledge of Qatar taxation and related compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP software systems and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
  • Experience with handling bank guarantees and performance bonds is considered beneficial.
