Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger with accuracy for daily journal entries.
- Detect and rectify discrepancies within the general ledger before financial period closure.
- Review journal entries along with supporting documentation to ensure adherence to IFRS and corporate accounting standards.
- Oversee and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across group entities.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing operations according to the approved financial calendar.
- Prepare necessary accruals, provisions, prepayments, and other adjusting entries for closing.
- Handle intercompany elimination entries required for group consolidation.
- Assist in compiling consolidation schedules and reporting packages for group financial reports.
- Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations with relevant supporting documents.
- Resolve reconciliation differences and follow up on unresolved items timely.
- Coordinate with other entities to address intercompany balance discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, detailed schedules, and variance analyses.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial inputs needed for corporate management and regulatory reports.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Provide assistance during internal and external audit processes, delivering necessary documentation and clarifications.
- Participate in implementing and monitoring new or updated IFRS standards where relevant.
- Maintain proper accounting records aligned with internal controls.
- Utilize SAP software for posting entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Promote improvements in accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
- Support enhancements in financial closing and reporting efficiencies within SAP.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
- Between 3 to 7 years of pertinent accounting experience, ideally in corporate finance or general ledger roles.
- Proficient with SAP ERP accounting systems.
- Experience in large corporations, multinational, or publicly listed companies is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end/year-end closings, financial report preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Audit experience with Big Four or reputable audit firms is considered a plus.
- Professional certifications such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA (Intermediate level) are preferred.
