About the Role
Serving as a Self Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in retail and customer service. This role focuses on delivering exceptional assistance to customers navigating self-service checkout systems, ensuring a smooth and positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the self-checkout area in a clean, orderly condition free of debris, obstacles, and spills.
- Guide customers on the proper and efficient use of self-checkout systems when necessary.
- Promote Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives when applicable.
- Observe customer behavior to identify when help or intervention is required.
- Politely explain the reasons behind self-service interventions and quality checks, reassuring customers that such procedures are standard protocol.
- Handle Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms knowledgeably, including completing the "Failure to Deactivate" logs.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager promptly if the self-checkout area faces cash shortages or technical difficulties.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated locations after use.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants must be aged 16 years or older.
