Self Checkout Attendant

Overview

Join Walmart Canada as a Self-Checkout Attendant and enhance your skills in the retail field. In this role, you will deliver outstanding service to customers, ensuring a smooth and positive shopping experience by assisting them with self-service checkout processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the self-checkout area by ensuring it is tidy, clean, and free from clutter or spills.
• Guide customers on the appropriate and efficient use of self-service checkout technology.
• Promote Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity campaigns when relevant.
• Monitor customer activities to determine if support is needed during the checkout process.
• When interventions or quality checks are necessary, courteously explain their purpose and reassure customers that such procedures are standard practice.
• Be knowledgeable about procedures related to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" log as required.
• Notify the Customer Service Manager if cash levels are low or technical problems occur in the self-service area.
• Return Scan & Go scanners to designated areas after use.

Compensation

This position offers a base starting wage of $18.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
